Procedure
Each procedure can vary depending on each patient’s individual needs and symptoms. Procedures like tummy tuck and breast surgery are performed under general anesthesia to ensure each patient feels relaxed and comfortable during their procedure. Most mommy makeover procedures are performed on an outpatient basis, meaning most patients are not required to stay overnight. The length of the procedure varies depending on what procedures are a part of your treatment plan.
Recovery
Following a mommy makeover, patients may experience some discomfort. You will likely experience some discomfort, bruising, and swelling, and your surgeon can prescribe pain medication to help you stay comfortable. Your surgeon may ask that you wear a compression garment temporarily to help reduce swelling in the treatment areas. Some patients find it helpful to have a trusted friend or family member around to assist them for the first few days of recovery. You won’t be able to lift much, including children, and you will need to prioritize rest while you recover.
