Mommy Makeover?
A mommy makeover is not a single, targeted procedure. Instead, it’s a cosmetic treatment program that involves performing a number of different body contouring procedures over a certain period of time.1
This is often necessary, as pregnancy, childbirth and nursing can negatively affect multiple areas of the body.

Every mommy makeover is unique, and our plastic surgeons will work with you to craft a body contouring plan that’s right for you and meets your specific goals.

Breast augmentation
This involves restoring breasts deflated after pregnancy and breastfeeding to a healthier, more abundant volume through the placement of breast implants, or in some cases using a fat transfer process.
Breast lift
Breast augmentation will often be combined with a breast lift, a procedure to elevate sagging breasts to a perkier, more youthful position while adjusting the angle of the nipples.
Liposuction

Another key part of preparing for a mommy makeover is to ensure that you have the support you will need during recovery. You won’t be able to lift much, including children, and will need rest while you recover.
What to expect during mommy makeover surgery
The details of mommy makeover surgery are different for every patient’s unique treatment plan. Most mommy makeover procedures are performed on an outpatient basis/ Procedures like tummy tuck and breast surgery are performed under general anesthesia, and liposuction may also be performed to eliminate stubborn fat pockets. Your doctor will thoroughly discuss the nature of each surgical procedure with you before your mommy makeover.
Recovery after mommy makeover
Because a mommy makeover is a customized suite of surgical procedures, each patient’s recovery period looks a little bit different. Your plastic surgeon will give you detailed expectations and instructions for your recovery time. For the most part, you can expect to take at least one to two weeks off of work for a mommy makeover. You will likely experience some discomfort, bruising, and swelling, and your cosmetic surgeon will prescribe pain medication to help you stay comfortable. Most mommy makeover patients must refrain from heavy lifting and strenuous activity for at least a few weeks after surgery.3
