Neck Lift

Experience elegance, renewal and rejuvenation with a customized neck lift.

Many clients who desire to roll back the clock on aging and its inevitable consequences focus on the face, believing this area to telegraph the majority of their unwanted changes. However, achieving a more youthful-looking aesthetic would be impossible without addressing the neck.

Before and After Photos

As the years pass, sagging in the neck becomes more pronounced, while that irksome submental fat known as a double chin begins to accumulate. Some patients suffer from vertical neck banding, while losing definition in their lower jaw. Our neck lift can help to correct all of these issues, giving you a smoother, more graceful and harmonious silhouette.

The board certified surgeons at Associates in Plastic Surgery will determine exactly what is needed in terms of approach during your confidential consultation, but in general, some combination of excision, liposuction, ultrasound technology and laser therapy can be used to achieve stunning results that appear completely natural.

Incision placement

Associates in Plastic Surgery offers non-surgical and surgical neck lift options, and the incision size and placement will vary among patients. Non-surgical neck lifts do not require an incision and will not involve visible scarring.

A surgical neck lift will require at least one incision, but your surgeon will customize the incisions based on the amount of fat and tissue to be removed. A typical neck lift requires three small incisions. One will be placed under your chin and that incision is used to remove submental fat and tighten the neck muscles. Another small incision will be placed behind each ear. Those are used to further tighten the neck muscles and remove excess skin.

Getting started

If you would like to learn more about how a cosmetic neck lift can improve your appearance and boost your self-image, please contact our New Jersey offices today to set up your confidential consultation with one of our elite, board certified plastic surgeons.

During this initial session, the doctors will perform a physical examination, review your surgical and medical history, and begin to formulate a plan of action involving either surgical or non-surgical methods, or a combination of both, to address your most urgent aesthetic concerns. The doctors will be able to answer all your questions in great depth during your consultation.

You will be provided with access to our library of before and after photography of former clients, so you can gain a better understanding of what to expect. The surgeons at APS may also elect to use our advanced 3D imaging technology to digitally project your future outcome.

Combining treatments often results in less downtime and lower costs for the patient, so if you are interested in any other procedures such as a faceliftrhinoplastyblepharoplasty or fat transfer, you can ask the doctors about these as well during your first meeting. APS offers a wide range of transformative cosmetic solutions that can achieve comprehensive changes.

Scars

The three incisions used during a neck lift will heal into a small, thin line. Each of the incisions are also hidden in the natural folds of your chin and ears, so the scars are often undiscernible.

Our surgeons are highly skilled and use the industry’s latest techniques to minimize visible scarring and provide you with a natural, flattering silhouette. Adhering to your surgeon’s instructions for aftercare will also help your incisions heal quickly and prevent complications.

Recovery time

There is little to no recovery time associated with a non-surgical neck lift. You will likely be able to resume work or other activities the next day and will be fully healed in approximately one week.

A surgical neck lift will have a longer recovery period. You will need to rest at home for the first few days. Patients typically take one to two weeks off of work depending on the extent of their procedure. Avoid excess movements or strain on your neck. Keep your head and neck elevated, and sleep with a supportive pillow.

Cost

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the average cost of a neck lift in 2019 was $5,110. However, the ASPS notes, this national average price omits the cost of many associated services including anesthesia, the operating room fees, and other such expenses. Thus the cost of any neck lift will greatly exceed this. We can provide patients an exact cost after their initial consultation. Generally speaking, it’s worth paying premium for a neck lift and other cosmetic surgeries as the quality and results of the treatment depend on the surgeon’s qualifications, expertise and experience.
