       The cosmetic surgeons at Associates in Plastic Surgery will design a three step process specifically for you  to address the three different parts of a great skin care program.  Step 1 is “Skin Smoothing” which includes resurfacing or tightening of the skin.  Step 2 is “Skin Clearing” for spots, veins, and acne.  Finally, Step 3 is “Skin Maintenance” to retain the improvements you have made with the first two steps.  See below:

Photofacial 

A photofacial or intense pulsed light treatment is a great way to improve age spots and tiny blood vessels on the face.  The treatment is extremely easy to go through and consists of cooling the skin and then going over it with the machine which disperses a bright flash of light.  The pulse of light bleaches the pigment in the age spot, and the spot essentially falls off in a few days.  The photofacial also blanches the tiny spider veins on the face, significantly improving the redness that many people have on their face.  This is especially true in patients with rosecea.  Recovery is usually minimal with most patients experiencing only some redness for a few hours. 

Acne Treatment

Our treatment for acne involves the use of a Nd:YAG laser to help dry up the glands that cause acne.  Also, glycolic acid peels help to open the pores and keep them from getting clogged, which also causes acne.  Together, these techniques can make a nice improvement in most patients experiencing troublesome acne.
 

Mesotherapy

An exciting method to dissolve fat and cellulite is now available through the use of mesotherapy. Mesotherapy is a proven, non-surgical method to eliminate fat and improve Cellulite that has been used in Europe for a number of years.
 

During the 10 minute mesotherapy treatment, tiny painless injections are made into any area that contains fat, dimpling, or Cellulite. The mesotherapy solution begins working immediately, and in most cases the patient notices improvement with a few days.

Any area that contains troublesome fat can be treated, including stomach, hips, arms, legs, buttocks, chin, neck, and jowls. Usually several (3-5) mesotherapy sessions are required to get the most dramatic results of fat loss and smoother skin. Mesotherapy treatments are given every 2 weeks and patients often state that several inches have been taken off their stomach, hips, and thighs from the treatment.

Mesotherapy works by enzymatic shrinking of the fat cells and has been shown to be extremely safe. No adverse effects have been reported, except for minor temporary itching in the area injected. Rarely, bruising is possible, that usually disappears in 1-2 weeks.

Because this method is non-surgical, the cost of mesotherapy is extremely reasonable and affordable. Treatments can be given any time, and the patients can return back to work immediately. Some patients see results even after one treatment.
